What’s the big deal …
Honey is a natural sweetener, with a lower GI value than sugar, so doesn’t raise sugar levels as quickly. It is also a natural antibacterial, with wound healing properties and evidence of promoting new tissue growth and minimising scar formation. There is also evidence that local honey can relieve allegies. In a 2011 study in Finland, a 60% drop in symptoms was measured in participants who ate local birch honey, and twice as many asymptomatic days were recorded as those using conventional medicine.

London Honey – 300g Jar

330 Grams (g)

WARNING: because of the remote chance of infant botulism associated with raw honey, do not give to babies under 12 months old

ORIGIN: London, N22

In a year that was particularly poor for bees through being so wet, we are particularly pleased to have a limited number of jars of deeply delicious London Honey available.

An exceptional floral honey, it is made in N22 by 70,000 bees cared for by Roo Kaplan and his mother, and powered by the nectar paradise that is Alexandra Palace Park, which includes “miles of Horse Chestnut, Lime trees and blackcurrants,” says Roo, “amongst all the other flowers and trees on offer”.
Please feel free to return your empty London Honey jars as usual, for cleaning, sterilising and reusing by The People’s Pantry
